In this post, I’m going to talk about the face coverage products I’m currently using.

From the Drawer……

Please keep in mind that I am not necessarily dedicated to these products or against any others. These products just work well for me, and this is simply to show what I’m currently using and liking.

I have not been using liquid foundation for a few years now. Simply because I stay at home all day and I don’t feel like that much coverage is necessary for ME on a daily basis, especially since the only people that see me are my kids.

What I normally wear in the way of coverage in this…..

If you want a lot of coverage, I don’t think this is the product for you. This is also not the product for you if you want a lot of staying power. But, it works for me because it evens out my skin tone, and provides that almighty sun protection that I like so much. I give myself a very light coating with the powder foundation, and then I use a more generous coating of the pressed powder. If I leave my house for an extended period of time, I’ll take the powder with me for touch-ups.

Even though I haven’t used it in a long time, a while back I purchased a bottle of foundation because some days, I just kind of miss it. I haven’t broke into the bottle yet; I’m “saving it” for a special occasion. Which is weird since there are never any kind of special occasions in my life. Smile

This is the foundation I have used for, like, ever. I was using this when I was a teenager, and well, it’s been awhile since I was a teenager. I’ve only tried other foundations a couple of times, and I always go back to this. And…..it’s SPF 15.

A product that I discovered a year or two ago is this…..

You can tell by how much I’ve used that I like it.

It’s hard to explain what this stuff does. This particular powder is translucent, so it doesn’t provide coverage. It just provides a nice finish to your makeup that is very noticeable. I love it.

I’ve only ever used the translucent, but when I purchased my replacement container of it, I decided to try one that provides a light coverage.

I haven’t opened it yet, because I always finish off my products before opening something new.

When I was in the store, reaching for the translucent powder, I happened to glance over at this powder and I noticed that is has an SPF of 14. Sold. That’s all it takes with me.

Another finishing powder I have, but don’t use very often is this….

This is a Revlon finishing powder that provides a very pretty shimmering effect. I’ve had this for a LONG time.

REVLON~1

It’s pretty, and I like it, but I’ve noticed you have to use a very light hand when applying it, or it will cake up and just look messy and weird. Tip: Use a face brush, not a compact puff or sponge. Second tip: Only use this if your wearing very light coverage makeup.

The last face product I have is something that I bought ages ago (like a year and a half), and never used it until this past week.

This is a primer.

I can’t say what made me buy this. I’ve always had negative feelings about the concepts of a primer.

“Penny, why did you have negative feelings about primers?”

I’ll tell you.

Do you remember Mimi???

mimi

When I was much younger, I used to watch reruns of The Drew Carey Show.

Mimi was ALWAYS talking about makeup primers.

So, I thought, if I used a primer, I was as insane as Mimi. Smile

Plus, primer just seemed like total overkill.

But, one day I was browsing at the store, and for some reason, I bought it.

I used it a few times, and HATED IT.

So, I put it away, not having the nerve to throw away a product that was practically brand new.

And then a few weeks ago, I saw some Youtube videos in which the girls were RAVING about this and I thought, “Huh. Okay.”

I realized I had been using it all wrong. I had been using far too much product.

I got it back out, did some experimenting, and now I LOVE IT.

A light touch is extremely important with this product.

And when I say light, I mean LIGHT……

IMG_4025

I dab it on each cheeks, on my forehead, and then rub it in.

It’s like rubbing cashmere into your face. Or silk. If you’re careful with how much you use, it feels amazing.

And, don’t ask me to explain this, but you will use LESS foundation or powder if you apply this stuff first. The amount of coverage you get will not suffer either.

I strongly recommend this product.

The very last thing in my face basket is not a face coverage product, but I have it in there nonetheless……..IMG_3977

Milani Baked Blush and the color is Dolce Pink.

Best. Blush. Ever.

Nicely pigmented, shimmering, so pretty. LOVE.

This is the only blush I have right now. I’m not a blush fanatic. As long as I have one that I really like, I don’t need any others.

And that is it for my “face” products.

Going to to tackle the other products soon. Plus…I went shopping and have new stuff to share! Smile

I must get some Milani products. I want that exact shade of blush. Did you see Lisa’s comment to me? She said “We are a bad influence”. She went makeup shopping yesterday. She’s so funny!

        LOL!!
We are keeping the industry ALIVE. :-)
I must say….I feel a little bad about starting a money spending spree for everyone….but not really cuz this is fun. :-)

I went to SIX stores yesterday. The ONLY place that I can find Milani in our area is….get this……Reasors. And the selection is always picked over and kind of sparse. The Dolce Pink Baked Blush seems to be a hot item. You may have a hard time finding it. I went to the Catoosa Reasors last night, and they seemed to have a pretty good selection. If you’re in that area, stop inside. And…….the 3D Glitzy Glam glosses are to die for. I have a post coming about those.

Hi! I had to go travelling with work and I’m now back playing catchup! Staggered in last night at 10pm and did a quick check to see that I have some cool makeup posts to catch up on. Yippeee

        I was starting to wonder!
Whenever my favorite bloggers don’t blog for a long time, and I start to get really worried about their well-being. Yesterday I was starting to think things like, “I hope Lisa is okay. Maybe I should email her.” :-) So, one day, if I haven’t heard from you in a long time, I’ll probably fly to Australia just to check on you. :-)
        I’m not a creeper. I swear.

Haha, I tried to post a comment letting you know I would be away on Monday but my computer froze up and I had to leave to catch a flight.

I was thinking “oh, I hope she doesn’t think I was offended by something” lol
