Today, I’m going to tackle my COLOR makeup. Eye products, lip products, and nail polish.

First up…..eye.

From the Drawer:

These are the eyeshadows I’ve been using FOR MONTHS. I’ve never had a big selection of eyeshadows. I tend to buy a good, rich color for my lid, and a lighter shade for my browbone, and then I use them for all of eternity until they need replacing. (However, I recently purchased a nice selection of new colors, which I’ll talk about in another post.)

Notice how worn and ugly the packaging is looking. I use my shadows hard.

From left to right:

Hard Candy. Color: Intergalactic

Milani. Color: Black Out

Milani. Color: Beach Sand

Revlon (perle). Black Galaxy

And this is a simple glitter crème, WHICH I LOVE. I very lightly dab my finger in this, and then pat it over my completed eyeshadow. It looks amazing. However, there have been a few major downsides to this product.

1. It will cause your eyeshadow to crease and fade. At least it has for me. I have grossly oily eyelids, so maybe this glitter collides with my eyelid funk and is causing the poor durability of my eyeshadow. When I use this glitter, I am constantly having to touch up my eyeshadow.

2. It has caused major dryness in the area in which I’ve used it. The skin across my browbone is flaking right this very moment.

Those problems aside, this stuff is gorgeous.

The Hard Candy Glitter Top Coat is very pretty on, but again, it has problems. It must be put on very lightly (I wear it over my mascara), or it makes your lashes stick together, makes them stiff, and they become spidery. But if you wear it lightly, your eyelashes glitter and sparkle and look very cool. I only wear this occasionally.

Of course, you could wear it alone, without mascara, and I’m sure it would look wicked awesome. But, my lashes are blonde, so I needs me some mascara on daily.

Lips:

These are my crown jewels in my lip basket.

Milani 3D Glitzy Glamour Glosses.

They smell like warm pastries, they glitters and they shimmers, they’re moisturizing, and they are, in general, DEAD SEXY.

Though, admittedly, they are not long-lasting.

Hard Candy gloss in Fireball – this color goes on very sheer….I was a little disappointed.

The last is an old Avon product, and I have no idea what the color is called.

I have never seen the blue shade in stores. I am, personally, appalled that there is apparently a market for blue lip gloss.

I got this from mark (the Avon line) years ago. These are so old that they should probably be thrown in the trash, but I just can’t bring myself to do it.

This was a Christmas special. All the little glosses are mini-sized and packed in the pretty pouch. I love this product. If my lips rot off one day, it’s cuz I used these old glosses.

Nails:

My nail poilsh collection is of massive proportions. Be prepared.

I jest. That’s all I have. I’m not obsessed with nail polish. Sometimes I think this makes me rather odd. It seems like other women love it.

Okay, okay. I have a few glitter polishes, but I never wear them. I wear only black on my nails, and it’s been that way for multiple years now. That probably sounds really drab/goth/emo to some, but it’s what momma likes.

This OPI set was a gift from my sister. I had worn an Avon black color for years, but it was discontinued, and when I expressed my concern with not finding another black color I like as much, she bought this for me. And I love it. The top coat makes my nail color last for weeks on end without any necessary touch-ups.

The file you see in the picture is a must-have item for me. That is a glass nail file, and they are the only files I use. Regular emery boards can just go die. Nothing compares to a glass file. I have broken so many of these things it’s ridiculous, but I recently wised up and starting keeping it in my wallet. I have it with me all the time now, I don’t have to dig around my bag for it, and it’s safe from possible breaks.

Now, I religiously only wear black polish, but I recently saw some Youtube videos on a new color by Essie, and I decided I HAD to have it.

This is “Dive Bar” by Essie.

The picture does not even remotely do it justice.

At first glance, it looks like an extremely dark, shimmery blue – almost black. But as you turn it in the light, there are multiple hints of purple and green and silver. It is the coolest color I have ever seen, and I would like to get another bottle just so I have a stock of it.

And….that’s it.
