This past Sunday, the Spudman turned 12.
He’s in junior high now.
What the crap is happening???????
Now, this is my fault, but every year on his birthday, The Spud thinks he deserves a parade on his B-day. And a carnival.
I spoil him. A little too much.
So after much deliberation as to what the birthday proceedings would be, a plan was formed. The plan changed numerous times.
In the end, we decided on a shopping trip in which Spud could pick out whatever his little heart desired (within a monetary limit) and after shopping, we got birthday donuts instead of cake.
We arrived at Target, and the boy made a beeline for the video game section.
I chilled in the Starbucks (I was feeling under the weather with a stomach bug) while The Spud made his selections. He came to visit us once, and beg for drinks. Shopping is tiring.
Really. It is.
3 new video games, a Lego set, and 2 packs of Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
Kids are expensive.
I shed dollar-sign shaped tears this weekend.
And now that brings us to the Krispy Kreme section of this blog.
Spud loves himself some Krispy Kreme. This is the second (non-consecutive) year he has requested KK donuts instead of cake.
This picture is a very adequate portrayal of his affections toward Krispy Kreme. I can’t believe I managed to catch this face with my camera. The only thing that makes Spud this happy is food.
Stop growing Spud.
